Staying Healthy on Campus.
So, like many college students, I have been struggling to keep myself healthy. This not only includes weight watching and food intake, but just not getting sick. I got sick a lot last semester. It was awful.
So I've done my research, combined a few ideas that I liked to come up with the following plan:
First off, I work out 5 times a week. Monday, Tuesday and Friday I just go to the gym and work out for an hour or hour and a half. Wednesday I have a fitball class and Thursday I have a pilates class. And aside from that, I do a lot of ab training in my room. It's nice having been a dancer for many years. I know what works best, and it can be done without going outside. I also have my weights in my room too. And not to mention, some good ol' yoga before going to bed! Very nice!
Food wise, things become more interesting. I hate most campus food. I will sometimes get a wrap, sushi, or go to the salad bar... when it looks eatable. [I have gotten food poisoning here]. I have a meal plan automatically by dorming on campus. I buy a lot of my stuff at the convenience store on campus with my meal card. They have a lot of health choices there. But I also occasionally go to the supermarket to pick up some healthier things. I like making pasta with vegetables and what not. And I get my V8 Fusion there. I eat of course, three times a day. My bigger meal tends to be breakfast or lunch. And if I have a long day, I will have some crackers with cheese, pretzels, or one of those really awesome fruit cups. But trying to integrate all the food groups is challenging with the little resources I have [this is excluding the supermarket, which I don't always go to]. But we'll see how things go.
All of this is geared towards all aspects of my health. I am trying really hard not to get sick this semester. I tend to have a frail immune system as of late. But maybe I won't get sick this semester.
Of course, there is the toning and weight aspect as well. I've been keeping a stead 140 - 144 lbs. But I really want to see if I can lower it. I know I'm 5'8" with a pretty muscular build, but I guess we can see what works. My goal by the end of the semester would be 130 - 135 lb. I think it is possible. I don't want to go anymore than that. I think about 10 lbs is a good amount to lose. I don't want to become too skinny. I'm not a fan of the bones showing. It actually creeps me out to a degree. It would also be nice to lose a pant size. I'm a size 6 right now. Maybe a 4 would be nice? Who knows... :D
So we will see how things fly. ^_^
That's all for now, Thankfully, I don't have a lot of work to do this weekend.
